The Church in Heaton House

For many years a faithful few gathered regularly together for a Communion Service in the lounge at Heaton House.

Since the beginning of 2004 the number of those coming has steadily increased, and it’s now quite usual to hear at least eighteen voices raised in song.  on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month the Rector, Curate, and members of St. Peter’s Martley join with residents of the House and others who live close by to praise and worship God.  There is a real sense of belonging, a sense of community within the group and everyone enjoys a lively chat over tea and coffee at the end of the service.

In this the 21st century, this is ‘Church’, the body of Christ, people meeting in his name.  It stands alongside the Sunday Services which take place at Wichenford, Martley, Cotheridge, Broadwas, Knightwick and Doddenham.  As church it is open to everyone whether regular church-goer, someone looking to return after a break, or someone exploring faith and spirituality anew: open to all across the whole Benifice. Our Services in January are Holy Communion on the 12th and 26th at 10.15am.

Do come and ‘Taste and see that the Lord is good’ Psalm 34.v8We thank God for this ‘Church’, for those who come, for those who help, and we pray for it’s future growth and ministry.Revd.
