Richard Jackman

Born to a farming father Richard qualified at Harper Adams and ran the family farm until 1992 when it was sold. He now manages 70 colonies of bees and sells locally at farmers markets and shops. In 1979 he built his first computer (a Nascom 1) and it has been all down hill from then. martley.org.uk was first registered by him in July 2000.

Michelle worked in the IT industry for many years, and is now teaching adults and Sixth-Formers at Worcester Sixth Form College. In terms of community activities, Michelle is a board member of Martley Web mesh and editor of The Villager magazine, which she has been involved with since its inception in 1992. Michelle is a cat owner and keen gardener and has lived in Martley for 18 years.

John Nicklin (secretary) has lived in the Martley area for over 12 years and with his wife, Linda, runs The Chandlery Guesthouse ( www.thechandlerybandb.co.uk ) opposite the church. He is involved in looking after the 40 miles of parish footpaths, being a member of The Path-or-Nones, (www.thepathornones.co.uk ) and is Parish Footpath Officer. His full time work is with Worcestershire County Council as a Community IT Tutor.

Born, Bred, Lived and Worked in Bromsgrove. Educated at Bromsgrove County High School. Resident of Martley for 7 years. Retired Radio, Television and Electrical Retailer (Family Business). Experienced Motor Mechanic. Overseas Communications Engineer working for Oxfam and other NGO's for 18 years and counting. Author of the Oxfam Communication Manual, (now in it’s sixth edition),
Class A licensed Radio Amateur. British Call: G4AAL licenced 1969. Ex Director and member of the Radio Society of Great Britain. Regular broadcasting news reader on short wave radio covering Europe and beyond every Sunday. Accredited Examiner for the Radio Communications Agency. Member of Martley Ramblers and Bromsgrove Probus Club. Interests –Everything, moving or stationary!
