Thank you, John. I have spoken to Alan Boon - a delightful gentleman - tonight. Sadly, he could not help in this instance as a register for the infants' class of 1904-5 is not available. However, he will check the relevant Log Book to see if, by some remote chance, there is any mention of the circumstances which caused the DEANE children to be dispersed and Dorothy's admission to Martley.
Kind regards

Does anyone have any knowledge of the whereabouts of the Martley National School Admissions Register for the turn of the 19th/20th Centuries?
Worcestershire CRO has advised that although it holds some records for Martley School, admissions registers have not been deposited and, if extant, may still be held at the school.
My interest stems from family history research into a DEANE Gamekeeper and what appears to be a possible family crisis resulting in dispersal of his children for a spell during 1905. Daughter Dorothy was admitted initially to Broadwas School in May 1904 but is recorded re-admitted to Broadwas from 'Martley N.' in April 1905.
Any assistance in forwarding this enquiry to the school will be much appreciated, as I have not been able to locate an email address for it.
