I have been looking on the Martley Web Site as I am trying to find information on my gt gt grandmother. She was born in the Village in about 1824. Her name was Mary, at present I cannot find her name before she was married. Her married name was Bennett. She married George Bennett about 1850.
Are you able to point me in the right direction for the Parish Records or is there someone within the village who is able to do a little research for me.

My Mother & Father were both born in Martley in the 1800s.
Mothers name was Hoskins, they lived in a place I believe called the Thatch, her brother Tom Hoskins lived in a cottage on scar bank next to the police house.
My father Bill Dowding was also born in Martley & I believe he used to work for the post office in Martley in his early days.
I have just been looking at your site: very interesting.
I am very interested in research of my family.
