Since the Crown has closed there is now nowhere for the locals to drink in Martley, or is there? What happened to the bar in the Village hall? Couldn't this be open during the week to "bridge the gap" until the Crown re-opens? Surely this is a community ammenity? , (Chance to make some dosh). Any comments please?
Up until the reformation, in many villages the churchwardens had the right to brew and sell ale in the nave of the church. Is this an opportunity for St Peter's????
